In 1970 Ignacio Osuna purchased a grocery store in Centro across from the cathedral called El Canal De Panamá. His wife Livi started baking cakes for the grocery store to sell. By 1976 the cakes became so popular the grocery store was transformed into Panama Pastry. In 1982 a restaurant was added and since then Panama has been expanding with restaurants all over Mazatlan, Culican and Los Mochis with raging success. The original location still remains in Centro across from the Cathedral now a restaurant and pastry shop.
This is a must-visit for breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessert when in Mazatlan. The food and pastry are made fresh and traditional. Although Panama has several locations they are all very busy and at times you can expect to wait for a table.
